IS the academy adding any youth competitive soccer teams or players?

Yes. Boys and girls born between August 1, 2008 and July 31, 2019 are eligible to tryout for the 2026 - 2027 competitive soccer year.

When are tryouts?

Tryouts will occur on June 5 - 7, 2026 at Lakeland Community Church, 913 NE Colbern Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64086. Certain age groups will have pre-tryout ID sessions on June 1 - 4, 2026. Click here to see tryout and ID schedule.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to tryout.

For the 2026 - 2027 season, which runs from July 2026 through May 2027, the annual costs are estimated to be $1,510 per player, itemized as follows:

--Player card/registration: $20

--Academy fee: $85

--Uniforms: $145

--Fall league: $80

--Spring league: $80

--Annual coaching and field rental fee: $1,100 (i.e., 11 months x $100 per month = $1,100)***

--Estimated annual total: $1,510

***Includes approximately 2-3 hours of in-season weekly training and/or scrimmage July - October and April - May, as well as approximately 1-2 hours of weekly winter training and/or scrimmage November - March.

The estimated amounts may vary a little ($150 to $300) depending on whether league fees are adjusted after tryouts, whether teams choose to play in optional tournaments, and whether teams choose to play indoor leagues during the winter season.

Why DO OTHER CLUBS COST so much?

Why do BSSA's opponents cost 2-5 times more than BSSA? It's a good question, and we don't know the answer. We are 100% certain, however, that spending insane amounts of money on youth soccer doesn't result in better players. Our teams prove this every weekend on the field.
